The city of Batu has always been beautiful even before Indonesia gained its independence in 1945. During the Dutch colonialism, the city was dubbed as “Klein Switzerland” which means “Little Switzerland”. It was called that way because the city has many hills and mounts around it, the nature is beautiful, and the weather is colder than other places around it. The city really deserves that nickname because it does have many attractive objects for tourists.
